We offer identification of suspected public health pests, such as mosquitoes, ticks, kissing bugs, termites, and ants. In order to have your specimen identified, please fill out our insect identification form, print it out, and submit your specimen(s) in person to the district office. Blank forms are also available at our district office. Get Adobe Reader.
How to submit a sample for identification:
1. To avoid crushing it's best to use a hard-sided container (i.e. gladware, mason jar, pill bottle, etc.).
2. Prompt submission is preferable. If insects are unable to be submitted immediately, please store them in the freezer. **When storing a tick or spider, please keep these specimens in the refrigerator.
3. When available, submit multiple specimens as this aids in proper identification.
